What is an estuary

What is an Estuary?

Estuaries are lagoons, bays, sound and swaps they are also landforms. An estuary is when fresh water joins up with the salt water. In New Zealand's freshwater are feeding grounds. Feeding grounds are when animals in the river get fed like fish, shellfish and birds.

Estuaries are a good place for food gathering spots. Estuaries provide safe, sheltered and lots of fish, shellfish and birds for eating.

Mangroves and seagrass are places for filter feeding animals. When mangroves and seagrass are in sea water they need to cope with the sunlight and wind which will hurt them. Garfish and lots of other types fish were found in seagrass.

Rivers carry sediment from land into hem and tide brings sand from the sea floor.Estuaries will age and eventually die, its sediment dries up.

In New Zealand estuaries are important to sea animals. We all need to keep all estuaries healthy and clean to keep the animals alive.

Water Recycled

Water Recycle

On Monday 2nd of December Sally from Water Care came over to our class to talk about how water gets recycled. We all got into groups and started the experiment by making rainbows. There were three cups one with fresh water, one with one tea spoon of salt mixed in with the fresh water and another with two tea spoons mixed in with fresh water. There were three containers of food colouring yellow, red, and blue we used a tube to push the food colouring into the tube and got another colours into the tube. After we have got all the colours in the tube we had to pour all the used water into the empty cup. After we poured in all of them we took a look at the colour it was yuck and black that gets cleaned by the Water Care and comes to the taps. That is what i learnt from how water gets recycled from the Water Care.

Today I learnt about telling the time on a analog clock. I worked really hard to get them all correct.

OXSANAH’S  NEWSPAPER  REPORT

P.B.S  PARTY

On Saturday the 9th November 2013 C3 church had held a party at Panmure Bridge school  at 11:00 and finished at 1:00. There was Mr Wippy’s truck,Pro Wrestles, Choir Uku lele, Kapa Haka, Cook Island group and loads more stuff families and friends from P.B.S for FREE. They also held a quiz who would win two tickets to Big Boy Toys, Oxsanah were one of the the people who won the Big Boy Toys tickets. All families and friends from P.B.S got to make their own cookies and also got ride on a pony or a horse.

I learnt to go close up to the picture your aiming to. I also learnt to not stand where the sun it facing because your image will turn out to be black. If i am using the flash light on a person i make sure that its not to close so than it dosent make their eye turn red.
